Head & Neck Cancers
Cancers of the Head & Neck are separated into different types based on the location of origin and the type of cells discovered. A squamous cell origin can behave quite differently than an adenocarcinoma even though the locations of each are close. These different classifications can help the patient make better decisions about their care and help the practitioner create the most optimal protocol.
On this page, we'll list some of the most common types of Head & Neck Cancer though, understand, regardless of the type and or diagnosis, we test each person and create a unique protocol based on that testing.
Thyroid Cancers
About 80% Thyroid Cancers are papillary cancers. These cancers are adenocarcinomas that tend to grow very slowly and usually develop in only one lobe of the thyroid gland. There are several subtypes of this type as well.
The other 20% of cancers of the thyroid are spread between medullary, anaplastic, lymphoma, and sarcomas.
From a natural perspective, use of specific nutraceuticals to help stimulate proper immune attack with concurrent anti-inflammatory nutrients may prove to be a good course.
We believe in specific testing to determine the cancer's fuel source and making as many changes as possible to reduce its ability to grow. We also test for specific, nutraceutical cancer balancers (think, natural chemotherapies) that may help one's immune system better attack the cancer directly.
General Considerations for Thyroid Cancers:

- Consider known blood and liver cleansing products like Dandelion Root, Chlorella, and juicing or blending greens, celery, cilantro, lemon, ginger, and turmeric.

Squamous Cell Cancers
Squamous epithelial cells can become squamous cell carcinomas (squamous cell cancer). This is the most common type of cancer in the throat, nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. It makes up a little over half of cancers of these areas.
Human papillomavirus (HPV) causes most of the squamous cell cancers of the oropharynx (called HPV-positive cancer). HPV-positive cancers are seen more often in young people with no history of tobacco or alcohol use.
Treatment protocols should address cause, as well as supporting immune function to help the body destroy the cancer cells.
Specific testing to determine the cancer's cause as well as fuel source, and then making as many changes as possible to reduce its ability to grow may be one's best choice. General Considerations for Squamous Cell Cancers:

Throat Cancers
Cancers of the Throat have to do with the Trachea, Larynx, Palate, and Bronchi.
Bronchial Cancer is a form of lung cancer that begins the bronchial tubes, the thin passages that connect the windpipe (trachea) to the lungs. Bronchial cancer usually begins as a tumor (a mass) in the bronchial tube. One of the first symptoms is often a persistent cough which can lead to coughing up mucus or blood.
Laryngeal cancer is cancer of the larynx, or voice box. Its symptoms include voice changes, such as hoarseness. Later stages may include a sore throat or cough that doesn’t go away.

Other Oral Cancers
Salivary gland cancer starts in one of the several different sets of glands that make saliva. The parotid, submandibular, and sublingual glands are prone to benign tumors as well.
Cancers of the nasal cavity, sinuses, and oral cavity can also be separated into squamous cell or adenocarcinomas depending on cell origin.

Nasopharyngeal Cancer
Nasopharyngeal Cancer is a typically classified as a head and neck cancer. It starts in the nasopharynx which is the upper part of the throat behind the nose and near the base of skull. There are benign nasopharyngeal tumors as well as Nasopharyngeal Carcinomas that can develop in this anatomical area.
