Cancer and Other Sweeteners
We never want to eliminate sugar and then substitute a “healthier” sweetener to have no change in our blood glucose levels. The whole idea of lowering one’s consumption of sugar is to lower the blood glucose – preferably to get one’s fasting glucose into the 70’s. So remember that while honey and maple syrup may be sweeteners that breakdown more slowly, they can still elevate glucose and feed a hungry cancer mass.
