And we know that, for those who love God, things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
Cancer is a difficult disease to handle. We know that hearing the scary diagnosis can create a dark season for you & your loved ones. It is a season full of impossible decisions, forcing you to question your mortality. Cancer diagnosis or not, we may never know the path of our lives & when we may leave this earth. However, a grave illness puts things into perspective about living.
We believe that spiritual health is the most important piece of the puzzle when handling cancer. In the dark seasons, the Lord is faithful. He molds & mends us during these hard times. We would not know joy if it weren’t for suffering &, because we live in a broken world, there will be suffering on this earth. It is how we use our suffering to bring glory to God that determines where we will spend eternity.
But we seek first his kingdom & his righteousness, & all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33
Unfortunately we do see many people making an idol out of their illness & becoming self-consumed with their everyday symptoms or treatments. We want to make it known that we should always seek God first. While we always promote researching & doing your part of the work when it comes to dealing with a grave disease, we ask that you do not lose yourself in the process. Seek His counsel above all else & prayerfully consider options on your path.
God is not a vending machine. He does not grant us our every whim & wish, but instead acts as our Heavenly Father. He disciplines us & shapes us through every joyful & difficult process. As believers, death has lost its sting, for we will be spending eternity with our Lord. Instead of fearing death, let us work on celebrating every challenging season, for His gifts are greater than anything we could ever receive!
