Why are tests important?
The proper assessment of the thyroid is extremely important to better understand the complexities of each individual. The mistake many practitioners make is to under-assess the thyroid. Hashimoto’s is NOT simply a “form” of low thyroid. It is a complex disorder with many facets that can cause a variety of issues. Hashimoto’s is quite possibly, the most ill-managed disease. The old linear progression and annual evaluation is long outdated.
One NEEDS to run a complete thyroid panel (at the very least) to properly understand thyroid health. The minimum tests that should be included with an initial test should include: Free thyroxine index (FTI), T3 uptake (THBR), Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), Thyroxine (T4), Tri-iodothyronine (T3), TPO and Thyroglobulin antibodies, as well as Reverse T3. This panel from Vibrant Wellness is only $75.40 on our Lab Store.
Dr. Conners suggests that everyone run his Complete Wellness Panel FIRST.
This panel includes a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), as well as a Complete Blood Count (CBC), and also includes bilirubin, high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP), Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase (GGT), fasting insulin and more. It includes a complete thyroid panel, homocysteine (which can be an indicator of vitamin B12, folate, and vitamin B6 deficiency), C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP), Lipid panel, insulin, HgbA1C, and others that Dr. Conners specifically chose as the BEST initial markers to analyze.
This panel is only $157 on our Lab Store.
