Be Faithful in Little Things
Luke 16:10
He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. NASB
It’s the little things that come before the big things in life. If you want to have real spiritual authority committed to you in this life, cultivate faithfulness in the little things. Start by obedience in attitude, punctuality, and honesty. Be kind to your spouse, your children, and those closest to you. Cultivate keeping your promises, even if they are only apparently trivial things, because there is a God who is watching you. Push your shopping cart back to the corral, pick up the trash in the public bathroom, hold the door open for a stranger, and stop getting angry at other drivers on the road; maybe they are having a really bad day.
Some of us pour out our heart to God, begging Him for healing or unanswered prayer, yet, have you spent more time in self-prayers or prayers for others? Start thinking of others first, and second, and third. We could all start “washing each other’s feet” in prayer! God IS assessing your character in the little things; He’s determining whether you are to be trusted with great things.
