What we’ve heard about the sun is a lie!

Sadly, we have been fooled to believe that the sun in our enemy, especially when talking about skin cancer.

The sun is not our enemy; it is our friend. It is the very source that keeps us alive & healthy, along with millions of other living things.

Despite what many believe, the sun has never been proven to be the cause of cancer. It has only been implied that sun exposure leads to rapid replication, however, it has been found to be more likely that toxicity in the body is what causes the cancer, not sunlight itself.

Sunlight is healing!

What is important to note is that Vitamin D is quite literally God’s gift to help those with cancer. Vitamin D can be obtained from limited dietary sources, & directly from sun exposure! Vitamin D has a wide range of physiological effects & has been studied to help a variety of cancers.

Not only does the sun provide us with necessary Vitamin D, but it truly is life giving in many forms. The sun prevents pathogens, viruses, parasites, bacteria, & mold. In fact, research shows that sun exposure helps rid the body of these known issues & can help increase the immune system in the process. The sun stimulates hormone function, causing the thyroid gland to be functioning properly & healthfully. Sun exposure also can benefit those struggling with mental illnesses, such as anxiety & depression due to Vitamin D intake.

Sunscreen & Cancer

We rely on the sun for its life giving resources, yet we are often told to avoid it or use harmful SPF. There are thousands of sunscreen products that contain a multitude of toxins, known carcinogens & hormone disruptors. In fact, studies have shown that 83% of 785 sunscreen products contain ingredients with significant safety concerns. These toxic SPF products are pushed on the population while we are told that sun exposure is bad for us.

Sunscreen does not prevent cancer. Rather, it can be a driving cause in creating it.

Everything in moderation! This does not mean we should let our skin burn. What this means is to not be afraid of the sun. If you are prone to burning or you know you will be in the sunlight all day, take precautions without chemicals & toxins. Wear a sun hat, wear long sleeves & retreat to a shady spot if needed. Ease your body back into sun exposure & develop a base tan, where you skin is less easily burned.

The sun has amazing healing qualities. This only affirms our belief that God gives us all the tools to heal our bodies. It is how we educate ourselves & utilize these tools that we can truly benefit from His Creation.
